About Us
Simple practices. Stronger brains. Connected communities.
Resilient Health Communities, Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit helping communities combat cognitive decline and social isolation through simple brain health tools, stronger connections, and community-powered practice.

Why We Began
RHC grew out of the lived experiences of its founders — experiences with aging, caregiving, dementia, community health, family responsibility, and the painful realization that many people learn about brain health only after a crisis has already begun.
Those experiences led to a shared commitment: help people talk sooner, learn earlier, practice simple habits, and build stronger circles of support before families feel alone or overwhelmed.
For RHC founding member and president Rhonda Baird, that commitment was deeply shaped by her father, David Hilton Baird, who lived with dementia. Mr. Baird was not only the inspiration for much of the work; he became part of its story. With his permission, RHC shared portions of his journey as part of a larger mission to help other families learn what the founders wish they had known earlier.
His life gave the work urgency. His dignity gave it direction. His story continues to remind RHC that brain health is not just a health topic — it is personal, relational, practical, and deeply human.
How RHC Works
RHC’s signature work includes Brain Boost 10-10-10 and Brain Boost Boot Camp. These programs introduce evidence-informed habits that individuals and groups can begin using right away: reading aloud, doing simple math quickly, writing by hand, and building meaningful social connection.
RHC is volunteer-powered and works through trusted community spaces, including churches, senior groups, community centers, civic organizations, health partners, and trained Brain Health Ambassadors.
Where We Are Growing
RHC’s work has reached communities in Maryland and beyond, including online sessions with participants from multiple locations. RHC also piloted Brain Boost Boot Camp in Tobago and helped launch a second class in collaboration with the Tobago Alzheimer’s Support Group.
With limited funding and a committed volunteer network, RHC has touched well over 1,000 lives through programs, outreach sessions, online engagement, and community partnerships.
